Work Starts on Landmark Development of Traditional Peak District Homes

A much anticipated residential property development has begun in Bradwell, comprising 55 traditional, stone-built houses, in the natural surroundings of the Peak District National Park.

Now that developer Camstead Homes has received planning consent for the new houses which will be known as Bradwell Springs, work has started on site to create a stunning new community of 3,4 and 5 bedroom detached homes and town houses. The first phase is expected to be completed in late 2020.

Tim Venn from Sales Agent Eadon Lockwood and Riddle comments,

“Despite the disruption in recent weeks due to COVID-19, in response to the high customer demand, Camstead are working hard to deliver this unique development to the local market.

“It’s appeal is clear: Bradwell Springs is ideally located in the heart of a beautiful National Park, yet within an easy commute to the major commercial centres of Sheffield and Manchester.

“Nestling on the side of Bradwell Dale, considered to be one of the most attractive valleys in the county, Bradwell itself is described as ‘one of the most beautiful and picturesque old towns in the Peak District’, and Bradwell Springs has been sympathetically designed and professionally landscaped to blend seamlessly with the local architecture.

“Features which have been inspired by the rural location and local architecture include exterior elevations built from authentic, locally quarried stone, slate roofs, and traditional stone walling throughout the scheme, all satisfyingly blended with a contemporary twist for modern family living.”

Camstead Director Johnny Rapley comments, “Ranging in size from 879 sq ft to 2280 sq ft, this exciting new residential development is being lovingly built by our handpicked team of highly skilled builders working alongside timed-served craftsmen who will use heritage skills and materials to create a unique scheme which reflects the natural splendour of the Peak District National Park.

“We are extremely honoured and privileged to be the first to build a development such as this in the area for nearly 60 years. It will help the Bradwell community to flourish and expand in this beautiful location for generations to come.”

Ground works have begun and utilities and new access roads are now in place. We are expecting to launch the show home at the end of August with the first properties available to occupy a month later for which reservations are now being taken – for more information we have a new section on our website Camstead.co.uk”
